‘La stanza del silenzio’ – Polaroids by Rocco Carnevale

C'è molto nelle immagini di Rocco, forse troppo per essere assimilato in tempi brevi, sono immagini che colpiscono per la tecnica certo, la composizione ovviamente, ma poi superata la "copertina" si entra in un mondo diverso, rubo le parole a Jung:

"C'è un inconscio collettivo che si esprime negli archetipi, oltre a un inconscio personale .  La vita dell'individuo è vista come un percorso, un processo di individuazione, di realizzazione del sé personale a confronto con l'inconscio individuale  e collettivo."

e perdonatemi ma trovo calzanti anche le parole di Eminen:

"Ma in realtà sono più strano di quanto pensi, perché lo sono. Sono amico del mostro che vive sotto il mio letto e va d'accordo con le voci nella mia testa." 

Un Filosofo e un Cantante; si, nessuna citazione e nessun riferimento ad altri fotografi, Rocco vive e crea il suo mondo fotografico nell'intimo, nell'eleganza delle sue immagini riecheggiano voci, pensieri a volte urla ed è forse per questo che allontanarsi risulta difficile, perché la sensazione rimane quella di non essere riusciti a comprendere la profondità perché accecati dalla bellezza.

There is a lot in Rocco's images, perhaps too much to be assimilated in a short time, they are images that are striking for their technique of course, the composition obviously, but then once you get past the "cover" you enter a different world, I steal the words from Jung :

and forgive me but I also find Eminen's words fitting:

"But I'm actually weirder than you think, because I am. I'm friends with the monster that lives under my bed and goes along with the voices in my head."

A Philosopher and a Singer; yes, no quotes and no references to other photographers, Rocco lives and creates his photographic world intimately, in the elegance of his images voices, thoughts and sometimes screams echo and this is perhaps why moving away is difficult, because the sensation remains that of not being able to understand the depth because they were blinded by beauty.
